Aachen, 28. listopada 2024. – U listopadu 2024. godine otvoren je novi hotel The Cloud One na Kö-Bogenu u Düsseldorfu. m3connect osigurava tehnološku osnovu za inovativna i povezana digitalna rješenja.

Kao IT partner Chocolate on the Pillow Grupe, s zadovoljstvom najavljujemo da ćemo od sada upravljati operacijama TRIBE hotela Baden Baden. Pod vodstvom Chocolate on the Pillow Grupe i kao dio Accor Grupe, TRIBE hoteli nastoje se etablirati kao vodeći pružatelj u sektoru lifestyle hotelijerstva s više od 50 hotela u raznim europskim gradovima. Njihov glavni fokus je stvaranje inovativnih putničkih iskustava koja zadovoljavaju potrebe i očekivanja modernih putnika—funkcionalna, moderna, dizajnerski orijentirana i s naglaskom na uravnoteženi omjer cijene i kvalitete.

U sklopu trogodišnjeg istraživačkog projekta između 2019. i 2022. godine, m3connect je istraživao mogućnosti primjene inteligentne tvornice u logističkom području u suradnji s tri bavarske partnerske tvrtke uz podršku Bavarskog državnog ministarstva za gospodarstvo, regionalni razvoj i energiju. Pod nazivom projekta „Autonomna i povezana logistika“, autonomni transportni sustavi i mobilni uređaji testirani su u stvarnim uvjetima u 5G kampus mreži u tvornici BMW Group Dingolfing.

Kako bi to omogućio, m3connect je instalirao privatnu mobilnu mrežu koja pokriva otprilike 25.000 četvornih metara na lokaciji Dingolfing. Ova mreža osigurava bežičnu komunikaciju za AutoTrailer, autonomno vozilo proizvedeno od strane Stäubli WFT-a. Umjesto tradicionalnih prikolica, AutoTrailer autonomno prevozi dolazne kontejnere unutar tvornice otprilike 500 metara do utovarnih vrata u otpremnoj zoni. Nakon što se napuni rezervnim dijelovima, prikolica prevozi napunjeni kontejner do sabirne točke, pripremajući ga za otpremu.

U sklopu projekta integrirani su i drugi koncepti digitalizacije, uz povezivanje sa sustavom za dodjelu transportnih zadataka. Zaposlenici su putem mobilnih uređaja mogli izravno komunicirati s autonomnim vozilom na parkiralištu. Podaci o probnim vožnjama također su prenošeni i obrađeni putem privatne mobilne mreže u oblaku. Kroz 5G infrastrukturu, implementirani su koncepti praćenja i evaluacije za procjenu učinkovitosti transportnog sustava.

Produktivni testovi logističkih aplikacija u 5G kampus mrežama pružaju značajan uvid u potencijal 5G tehnologije u industrijskim okruženjima. Posebno, mogućnost praćenja prostorne pozicije mrežnih sudionika u stvarnom vremenu omogućuje sveobuhvatnu evaluaciju produktivnosti autonomnih logističkih vozila.

„U ovom istraživačkom projektu koristili smo isključivo OpenRAN hardver i softver. Ovaj standard nam jamči mogućnost modularnog i proizvođački neovisnog proširenja i skaliranja privatne 5G mobilne mreže. Kako su ORAN proizvodi tijekom trajanja projekta bili u ranoj fazi tehnološkog razvoja, suočili smo se s određenim problemima stabilnosti koje smo uglavnom uspjeli prevladati tijekom projekta. Tehnološka zrelost 5G ORAN mreža uskoro će pouzdano ispunjavati industrijske SLA standarde.“ – Justin Eichenlaub, voditelj mobilnih rješenja, m3connect.

Privatne 5G mobilne mreže ključna su komponenta na putu prema potpuno povezanoj proizvodnji, posebno pridonoseći sveobuhvatnoj i robusnoj komunikaciji između strojeva u velikim logističkim područjima. Mogućnost samostalnog upravljanja tim mrežama i njihove integracije u postojeće industrijske mreže omogućuje maksimalnu zaštitu osjetljivih i kritičnih podataka te smanjuje ovisnost o vanjskim dobavljačima.

m3connect je proveo ovaj podprojekt u suradnji s partnerima Accelleran, proizvođačem RAN softvera, i Benetelom, dobavljačem RAN hardvera.

Tijekom proteklih mjeseci, angažirala nas je event agencija MH Event GmbH kako bismo pružili tehnološku podršku za proslavu stogodišnjice globalno vodeće kompanije u sektoru farmaceutike i medicinske tehnologije. Naša odgovornost bila je opremiti prostor događaja, veličine 7.000 četvornih metara, našom privatnom mobilnom mrežom. Program događanja bio je iznimno raznolik i uključivao je live nastupe, food truckove, napuhance i brojne druge atrakcije.

Zahtjev klijenta bio je uspostaviti brzi i beskontaktni sustav plaćanja na štandovima s hranom putem naše mobilne mreže. Kako bismo to postigli, pokrili smo prostor bežičnom povezanošću te postavili dva 5G mobilna odašiljača i kompaktnu, mobilnu server kutiju. Pomoću pametnih telefona koje smo osigurali, osoblje na food truckovima je efikasno preuzimalo i obrađivalo narudžbe.

Još jedna inovacija uključivala je integraciju NFC čipova, koji su bili pričvršćeni na narukvice za ulaz i mogli su se napuniti kreditom. Pomoću tih čipova, gosti su imali pogodnost beskontaktnog plaćanja. Softversku podršku za NFC sustav plaćanja osigurao je naš partner Ticketree.

Tijekom cijelog događaja, stabilnost mreže bila je izvrsna. Organizator je bio izuzetno zadovoljan performansama naše m3connect mobilne mreže, te su vođeni poticajni razgovori o daljnjim potencijalima mreže.

Nakon obećavajućeg uspjeha našeg pilot projekta, naš fokus sada je usmjeren na sljedeći cilj: Rock in Rott Festival, koji će se održati od 1. do 3. rujna 2023. Osim dokazane NFC aplikacije za plaćanje, planiramo integrirati i uzbudljive nove značajke u m3connect mobilnu mrežu – pratite nas!

U sklopu tjedna mjerenja mobilne mreže, građani u NRW-u pozvani su da pomoću aplikacije koju je osigurala Savezna agencija za mreže izmjere pokrivenost mobilne mreže i identificiraju “mrtve zone”. Tvrtke su također često pogođene mrtvim zonama i slabom dostupnošću mreže, zbog čega sve više ovise o našim privatnim 5G mrežama kako bi poslovni procesi bili brži, pouzdaniji i učinkovitiji.

Od 2019. godine, pioniri smo u industriji mobilnih telekomunikacija, dizajnirajući, konstruirajući i upravljajući privatnim mobilnim mrežama. We are excited about the opening of our new office in San Francisco, the opportunity to expand our presence in the US and be part of the growing technology and innovation community there. In addition, last year we celebrated the opening of our new location in Ras Al Khaimah, capital of the Arab Emirate of the same name, from which we serve our customers in the entire Middle East & Africa region.

Already since 2017, we have been implementing communication networks in hotels in the Gulf region, ensuring efficient operations and satisfied guests in the hospitality industry with the integration of WLAN, IPTV, access control, room and energy management systems and digital signage. Our network innovations for the hotel industry have been present at Arabian hospitality trade fairs and events for some time. For example, we have already equipped houses of customers such as the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) with innovative wireless and communications infrastructure. As part of an all-round service, we offer complete packages from a single source, from consulting and project management to installation and on-site support.

“With our service, we are now even closer to our customers and can further strengthen on-site customer and project support,” reports Jeroen Wisse, one of our specialists for network infrastructure in hotel chains and Managing Director of the new UAE branch.

On September 28/29, the Digital Hotel Day will take place at the b’mine Hotel in Frankfurt am Main. Artificial intelligence for radar systems to support police surveillance in public places and train stations, in short KIRaPol.5G. This is one of our company’s new 5G projects, which is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the 5G.NRW competition. Together with the project partners IMST GmbH, Telefonbau Arthur Schwabe GmbH, the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and various security authorities (Federal Police, Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, Mönchengladbach Police Headquarters), we are developing a concept in which public areas can be monitored in compliance with data protection requirements by using innovative technologies.
Instead of video systems, radar technology is increasingly used. Here, radio waves can be used to detect not only individual objects, but also their position and speed. In this case, it is not possible to draw personal conclusions, as could be the case with video surveillance using facial recognition. This results in a considerable advantage in terms of data protection. AI-supported pattern recognition will be used to read out people’s movements from the radar data, which will also make it possible to identify dangerous situations, among other things. For example, if a person is lying motionless on the ground, an alarm can be automatically triggered at the security authorities. In this way, emergencies can be quickly recognized and a correspondingly rapid response can be made.
In this project, we are responsible for the network infrastructure for transmitting the highly secured data streams. The radar systems are connected to the central components via the 5G network. The data collected there is then in turn transmitted via a highly encrypted connection to a cloud, from which the alarms are triggered to the security authorities in subsequent use cases. The pilot project will be the main train station in Mönchengladbach, including the forecourt.

We are very pleased that our partner companies also choose us when it comes to building their network structure. Our partner Zwo G GmbH has built a new headquarters in Viersen and has commissioned us to set up the network infrastructure for them there. We also set up the hardware for their telephony and their conference rooms. Zwo G GmbH is a waste management and recycling company with which we cooperate on our construction sites. We are looking forward to further cooperation together.

Using our collaboration with Sparkasse Aachen as an example, he explains why cyber security is supported by a customer WLAN at an institution with sensitive data, and gives an insight into the future of digital customer service offerings in branch offices. After two years of “abstention” due to the pandemic, our m3 rockers were finally able to enjoy Germany’s biggest traditional festival again. A total of 40 m3 employees were among the 75,000 visitors and enjoyed an unforgettable festival experience. Headliners at the festival included Green Day, Muse and Volbeat. Other acts included Placebo, Måneskin, Marteria, Beatsteaks, Jan Delay, Scooter and other well-known top acts.
Those who stayed at home may hardly believe it at first, but the corporate success of m3 also benefits from the shared experience of such an event: In a great mood and cheerful celebratory mood, our colleagues proudly presented the company and symbolized team strength by hanging up the m3 flag and wearing our m3 hoodies, T-shirts and jackets uniformly. After all, this is not the case everywhere – a 2016 study by the AOK found that one in four respondents complained of a negative working atmosphere, and that this had a negative impact on productivity and motivation. We asked our colleague Daniel Stevens, who works at m3connect as Head of Account Management and describes himself as the “biggest fan of the campaign”, for what reasons the shared festival experience is important, and to what extent he believes it has a positive effect on the team and the company. We would like to present his conviction – as the initiator of the campaign – to you here verbatim:
“The annual festival visit to Rock Am Ring is a very special highlight, as the participating colleagues experience great and, above all, unforgettable moments together in an incomparable atmosphere. Weeks, even months in advance, the anticipation is shared à la “It’s finally coming soon!” and “Which bands do we want to see?”. On site, the camp is then set up together and lived in together for days. Great concerts are visited and it is laughed together extensively, sung, danced and celebrated. The festival visit welds together in a very special way and even creates one or the other friendship among the participants. Team building in a class of its own.”

This year’s IHA Hotel Congress will take place on June 29 and 30, 2022 at the Lindner Congress Hotel Düsseldorf. As a partner of the IHA Hotel Association, we will of course be there again this time. Our Sales Managers Rosaria Weiland, Avdo Iljazovic and Constantin Cremerius will be at our exhibitor stand to talk about our field-tested, forward-looking solutions. They will present our unique networking concept with SD-WAN as well as our solutions for WLAN portals, room TVs and digital signage that are based on it. The three are looking forward to two eventful days with many interesting discussions.

Located in the heart of Chiemgau, the resort DAS ACHENTAL offers a lot of free space, a magnificent golf course, the finest culinary moments of pleasure in the various restaurants, wellness and enough space for meetings. It is well-known among soccer clubs and, in addition to Bundesliga clubs, is also used by the German national team for training camps. In his hotel’s own gourmet restaurant “es:senz”, the 2-star chef Edip Sigl invites guests to enjoy inventive dishes with selected ingredients in the best organic quality.

This perfect place for a sports vacation now also shines with a completely new WiFi network on the entire resort grounds for its guests. A total of approximately 225 access points have been installed indoors and outdoors. The access points, the hotel’s own camera system, the building management system, the music and cash register systems, fitness equipment, charging stations for the e-cars and training equipment in the driving range all run via the new m3connect VLAN security concept and are managed via more than 30 switches. This enables secure and comprehensive coverage of the entire resort, including the connection of additional buildings on the site via newly laid fiber optic cables. Thanks to a symmetrical m3connect 1 Gigabit Internet connection, it is now possible for guests to surf with high-speed Internet throughout the entire complex. We are pleased about the good cooperation and look forward to further joint projects.

We can finally share the next date for Rock in Rott with you. Unfortunately  our charity festival had to be cancelled in the last two years. Therefore we are now even more pleased to announce that Rock in Rott will finally go into the third round from August 12 to 14, 2022!

On the first weekend after the summer vacations we will celebrate, dance, sing, laugh and have fun together at the Sportpark in Rott.  As usual, the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charitable organizations. That’s why the slogan for our festival is called: Rocking for a good cause!

When it comes to setting up a first-class network infrastructure in the hospitality sector, the leading budget and economy hotel chain B&B HOTELS trusts us as a reliable and strong partner in our joint project “Future Network”.

All information about the “Future Network” project, such as the exact network requirements, the uncomplicated implementation at new locations, the advantages for the hotel chain as well as the individual hotels and the enabling of a digital guest journey through additional features, can be found in our Case Study.

At the Hotel-Restaurant Schwanen in Metzingen we were able to implement a very special project together with ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH. The hotel of the Wetzel family, which features 71 guest rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a conference area, is currently renewing its network infrastructure with the aim of increasing its own hygiene standards. For this purpose, together with Assa Abloy, the manufacturer and supplier of locking solutions and security systems, we implemented a door locking system that allows guests contactless access to the guest rooms via app.

m3connect of course provided the necessary network infrastructure and the integration of the door locking system. Hardware from the renowned manufacturer Ruckus was used and the entire building was equipped with Ruckus R550 access points. The access points not only feature the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology (802.11 ax), but also an integrated IoT module, which allowed the door locking system to be directly and easily integrated into the network.

The Hotel-Restaurant Schwanen has been relying on m3connect’s services in the field of network infrastructure, WiFi and digital signage for many years. That means they benefit from great cost efficiency, operational stability and, above all, flexibility. After a year off in 2021, we were back at CES in Las Vegas this year to catch up on the latest tech innovations. This year, CES was dedicated to the two technological megatrends of the future: intelligent automation and developments in interactive online and on-demand consumer goods and services in the wake of the pandemic – the new Metaverse.

In addition, breathtaking screens with razor-sharp images using QLED and routers with moving antennas were presented, among other things. By realigning the antennas as soon as the receiving device is moved, the signal is constantly improved.

We had an exciting time with many new impressions and are already looking forward to the next CES.

Three of our consultants have successfully completed the training from the Federal Social Security Office. This entitles them to determine whether a project is eligible for funding from the Hospital Structural Fund.

In the past, we have often reported that funding can be applied for our measures for digitization in hospitals. We are very pleased that we can now also check the eligibility of projects for receiving funding ourselves.

The verification that the project meets the requirements of the funding guidelines must be proven by an authorized IT service provider during the application process. This is why it makes sense to work right from the start with a service provider that has this authorization. We are proud to be able to provide this additional service for our customers with immediate effect.

As a nice surprise at the end of the year 2021, we may announce that we have been awarded for the 4th time by FOCUS-Business as a top employer of medium-sized businesses. Over 550,000 employee evaluations of more than 38,000 medium-sized companies based in Germany were analyzed.

The study revealed that m3connect is one of the “Top Employers of Medium-Sized Businesses 2022” in the category “Internet and Multimedia”. The study was composed of the following criteria: Company size, employee ratings from a Germany-wide online survey, and existing online employer reviews.

Last week on Thursday we spent the evening together in front of our screens and held our – very popular with all colleagues – Christmas party. Everyone made themselves comfortable at home with mulled wine, warm soup, home-baked cookies and other goodies. With lots of virtual applause, we toasted to our successes this year and welcomed our newly added 2021 team members. We are very happy to announce that we were able to recruit 23 new colleagues to our team again this year! We also drew lots for our 3 lucky winners this year who will represent our company at the Hornschlittenrennen in Garmisch-Patenkirchen in early 2022. In doing so, we got to hear some funny stories from the past years and reminisced until late in the evening.
